TWENTY FORTY: This class is twenty minutes of movement and forty minutes of restorative.
FORTY TWENTY : I used to think that an hour was way too short for a yoga class, and then I created forty twenty : A 60 minute straight up shot of all the good stuff. Forty-twenty infuses together 40 minutes of an invigorating, sticky sweaty flow and twenty minutes of blissful restorative poses all stitched together with pranayama, aromatherapy and meditation.
Restorative yoga is the art of stillness using the support of bolsters, lavender eye pillows, essential oils and alpha brain music. The room is warm, the candles are lit and the incense is burning. We will make a commitment to transformation as we reawaken all our senses and unpack the body. We will access the parasympathetic nervous system as we begin moving our energy and processing our emotions. Restorative yoga will allow your to soften your interior stance and repair the body on a cellular level so that you can have a CALM body, CLEAR mind and OPEN heart. This class usually moves through 8-10 poses holding each pose for 5-8 minutes. This class is suitable for beginners.
Vinyasa yoga is the cumulation of moving through postures using the breath. I will warm the room enough to calm the chill from your bones. The music will be soothing and alive. The message will be true. You will flow. Right to your edge. When you want to give up – surrender. And on your exhale, leave behind all that isn’t needed. And again.
Mellow yoga is accessible to everyone. We start with floor postures, working our way in to the body and connecting to the breath. Then we work our way up to a few mellow standing postures and then back down. We use all props, including bolsters, straps, blankets and blocks.
